Aerial Installation

Aerials generally last for a long time but rooftop installations can be affected by weather over time. If the current picture quality is poor and the TV equipment is correctly tuned and in good working order, then a damaged aerial or cable may need attention from a professional installer.

 

Loft aerials and portable set-top aerials can work in areas where there is good reception but can be subject to electrical interference from other domestic appliances. Indoor aerials are most suitable for areas up to 15 miles away from the nearest transmitter whereas outdoor aerials should be used when living farther than 15 miles away.

 

Whether an amplified or non-amplified aerial is needed depends on the local area conditions. If the viewer lives in an area near a transmitter with little interference, a non-amplified aerial will do. However, when living further than 3 miles away from the nearest transmitter or in areas with a lot of signal disturbance caused by Wi-Fi or mobile phones, then an amplified aerial is the best option to use.

 

If the viewer is experiencing reception issues that are not readily identifiable then they may need to consider moving to a rooftop aerial to resolve the issue.

On rare occasions technical changes at a local TV transmitter may mean that a different type of aerial is needed to receive all available channels.

Aerial Repair

If the television has signal loss, or poor picture quality, or pixelating or freezing channels, we can perform an aerial repair at your property. We will perform a full fault diagnosis of your television viewing system and then obtain the optimum reception signal possible. We will also advise and supply you with additional equipment such as a signal booster or an upgrade to improve reception levels if it is required.

Multi-Room Digital Aerial System Installation

There are two aspects to multi-room viewing :-

• where the same channel is broadcast to different rooms simultaneously, or

• where different channels are broadcast to different rooms simultaneously.
